Itinerary details

Day 1 - Land in Casablanca

Airport transfer arranged from Casablanca.
Visit of the impressive Hassan II Mosque.
Visit of Habous neighborhood and it’s stunning markets.
A stop by the famous bakery in town to get some moroccan sweets, Almond pastries.
Lunch will be in the central market located in the beautiful Mohamed V avenue the menu will be mainly fresh Fish and seafood.
After lunch we go to have a coffee / mint tea and a gourmet dessert in la Sqala a cultural and historical café.
Drive to Rabat (1 hour Drive).
Check into the Hotel.

Day 2 - Explore Rabat

Meet your Guide in your Hotel and start your full day tour.
Visit of Rabat city and it’s Historical sites (Chellah, Hassan tower).
Lunch in a traditional restaurant in the old town.
Continue the cultural visit and exploration of Rabat (Kasbah des oudayas, the old town… ).
Big dinner & cooking class with a local family.
Night in Your Hotel.

Day 3 - Chefchaouen the blue perl

After breakfast in Rabat you’ll drive to Chefchaouen (4h drive).
Meet your local Guide in Chefchaouen.
Quick local lunch.
Cultural tour walking in the blue streets of the old town.
Cup of tea in Ras elma water fall.
30 minutes Hike to the panoramic view to watch the sunset (optional).
Local dinner in a restaurant.

Day 4 - Get to Fes

After break fast in your Riad in Chefchaouen will drive about 4h30 to get to Fes.
Lunch in a local restaurant barbeque and tagines in the menu.
Walk around the peaceful Jnan Sbil Garden.
Checking to your Riad.
Dinner in the Riad.

Day 5 - Explore the ancient city of Fes

Meet your guide for a full day food and sightseeing tour.
we’ll start with The Royal palace and Mellah the jewish neighborhood.
Visit of a pottery school / cooperative to learn about this famous craft.
immerse yourself into the maze of medina of Fez, a labyrinth of more than 9000 streets and alleyways.
where you will be visiting, a Mederssa, Quaraouiyine university, Moulay Idriss Mosque / shrine, The famous leather tanneries, Vibrant markets with Artisans making some mesmerizing crafts
4 to 6 different Street Food stops and lunch along the way.

Day 6 - Get to Erfoud gate to the Sahara

In total we have a 6 hours drive with, the most scenic views and landscape changes that you can find in Morocco, we’ll stop in multiple occasion for panoramics and stunning pictures.
Stop to play, feed and take pictures of monkeys (barbary apes).
Lunch in Midelt or Errachidia.
Wonderful drive through the atlas mountains and palm trees valleys.
Arrive to Erfoud.
Night and dinner in the Hotel.

Day 7 - Merzouga the golden sand dunes

After breakfast in your Hotel you’ll meet with your guide and drive to Rissani.
A visit to the Moulay Ali Cherif shrine (The father of the Alaouites Dynasty).
A visit to the old market of Rissani.
Lunch with Medfouna berber pizza where you will see it in the making.
Visit of Khamlia village for some Gnaoua music.
Tour of one of the fossils museums.
Get to the sand dunes.
Quad ride / sand dunes buggy ride (Optional).
Camel ride and sunset view.
Dinner in the camp.
Drums music party.

Day 8 - Dades in the heart of the atlas mountains

Breakfast in the morning.
Drive to Boumalne dades (3h30 min) passing by Tinghir valley.
Checking at the Hotel.
Lunch at the Hotel.
Hike to the canyons and between the fields of the Ait Arbi berber village.
Chilling / tea time at the Hotel.
Dinner and night.

Day 9 - Ouarzazate the Hollywood of morocco

After breakfast in the Hotel you will drive to Ouarzazate (2h)
Visit of Atlas studios where many famous movies where shot like Gladiator, kindgom of heaven , Babel, game of thrones …
Drive to Ait Benhadou for a visit to the unesco world heritage Kasbah

Day 10 - Get to Marrakech via tichka pass

Breakfast in your Hotel.
Continue the drive to Marrakech via Telouet and tizi n tichka pass.

Day 11 - Explore the red city of Marrakech

Breakfast in the hotel.
Marrakech Cultural visit city monuments and landmarks.
Majorelle Garden, Menara water reservoir, Dar Elbacha …
Tour in the old town with it’s charming souks, streets and alleyways.
Lunch break in a local restaurant in the Old town.
Back to your Hotel for some chill time.
Night tour in the big square Jemaa el fna.

Day 12 - More of Marrakech

Breakfast in your Riad in Marrakech.
Full day sightseeing and tasting in the Medina of Marrakech.
Starting from Mellah neighborhood and Benattar Market.
Visit of dar si said carpets and hand craft museum or Bahia palace.
Markets of the Medina and some street food tastings.
Lunch in a local restaurant.
Continue in the streets of the medina to le Jardin secret and visit to the wonderful garden and it’s mechanical old water system.
Farewell Dinner with live music and show in a restaurant.
Night in the hotel.

Day 13 - Essaouira where you meet the atlantic

9:00 Am Drive to Essaouira (2h30).
Stop to see how moroccan oil (Argan oil) is made in one of the cooperatives.
Continue to Essaouira
Checking to your Hotel.
Meet your guide in Essaouira for a city tour combined with tastings.
Food tour and visit of the old town the fish market and the famous port of Essaouira.
Dinner in a restaurant (Dar baba or similar).

Day 14 - Back to Casablanca or Marrakech

We had a custom 12-day tour around Morocco with Moroccan Food Tour and it was a fantastic experience. We usually like to plan trips ourselves but felt that Mohammed and his team would do a great job and we were absolutely right. One of our most memorable trips and it would not have been the same without them. We visited Casablanca, Rabat, Chefchaouen, Fes, Sahara Desert (Merzouga, Rissani, Ouarzazate), Marrakesh, Imlil Valley. Mohammed planned the perfect balance of culture, food, and nature into our entire trip. He booked all of our accommodations which were fantastic and a nice mix of traditional and modern. We had plenty of delicious food the entire time too! He was also very responsive to any questions and flexible with budget while planning. We had private transportation the whole trip with the most amazing driver, Ahmed. Ahmed was phenomenal, kind and funny. He knows how to navigate around Morocco without any GPS (including off road in the desert), always attentive to our needs and making sure we had fresh water available at all times, and picked out the BEST food on our lunch stops- tons of amazing BBQ, tajine, salad, and fruits. Our culture/food guides in various cities were extremely friendly, knowledgeable and of course knew the best food spots. We had Mohammed in Casablanca and Rabat, Youssef in Chefchaouen, Fatima in Fes, Ahmed (our driver) in the desert, Soufiane in Marrakesh, and Hassan in Imlil Valley. It was awesome that they chose for us special local dishes to each region. We also had life-changing meals in the family homes that were arranged as part of the tour.

We had the most amazing journey! Everyone we interacted with was very helpful, kind and professional and filled with knowledge that enriched our experience and made our entire tour relaxing, informative, safe, fun, and completely tailored to all of our needs. We met wonderful people and made many new friends and felt more like family members than simply clients on an inclusive tour. We would recommend Moroccan Food Tour to everyone. Rarely does one travel and have such a relaxing flexible experience. We ate new wonderful foods, saw the natural and historical wonders of Morocco, and Ahmed our main guide was just a fantastic person that we enjoyed hanging with and completely trust. Each city that we visited was unique and we never had to worry about the quality of our food and lodging as we left it all to our excellent guides to manage. The few times we asked for a little change or a special addition such as our anniversary dinner the care taken was second to none!
